Kindergarten Registration: For the 2022-2023 School Year, kindergarten registration will be held online from Jan. These modifications apply to all students who are completing a secondary-level course of study or make-up program in January and are scheduled to participate in one or more of the January 2022 Regents Examinations. The Department will ask the Board of Regents to approve modifications to the assessment requirements that students must meet to earn high school diplomas, credentials, and endorsements. January Regents Exams Cancelled: NYSED announced that it cancelled all January 2022 Regents Exams due to Covid. Thank you for your continued partnership and support in keeping our community healthy.
I will share further guidance as it is developed by the county, which will detail eligibility, location and number of days needed to be tested. Test To Stay: The Putnam County Department of Health, PCDOH, is working closely with all the school districts in the county in developing a Test to Stay program upon the return to school after the break. The decision to have to go to remote learning will solely depend on the ability to staff our buildings adequately or evidence of widespread school clusters. We will continue to monitor the cases closely upon the return on January 3rd. Though the contact tracing process is arduous, faculty and staff continue to put forth every effort to help in covering classes and keeping our schools open. As I mentioned at the Board meeting on Tuesday night, we have no intention of our schools going remote after the break. Remote Learning: I have received many questions regarding the state of our schools with the rising COVID cases in the county. I am truly grateful to our teachers and staff for their work to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for our students.
